HEC (Hydroxyethyl Cellulose)
Cold-water soluble, clear solution, good thickening; salt resistance lower than HPMC. For latex paint, water-borne coatings, detergents, drilling fluids.
EC (Ethyl Cellulose)
Water-insoluble, soluble in organic solvents; excellent film-forming. For sustained-release coating, capsule coating, inks, coatings, adhesives.
MC (Methyl Cellulose)
Dissolves in cold water, gels on heating; good water retention. For building mortars, putty, food thickener, pharma excipient.
CMC (Carboxymethyl Cellulose / Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, CMC-Na)
Anionic cellulose ether, commercially used in its sodium salt form (CMC-Na); water-soluble, thickening, emulsifying, stabilizing. For food (E466), detergents, ceramics, paper, drilling fluids, pharma.
HPC (Hydroxypropyl Cellulose)
Soluble in cold/hot water and some solvents; strong film-forming and adhesion. For tablet coating, food thickening, cosmetics.
HEMC (Hydroxyethyl Methyl Cellulose)
Similar to HPMC with better water retention and stronger salt resistance. For building mortars, putty, ETICS; partial replacement for HPMC.
RDP (Redispersible Polymer Powder)
Spray-dried polymer powder; redisperses in water. Improves flexibility, adhesion and crack resistance. For tile adhesive, ETICS, self-leveling, putty.
PAC (Polyanionic Cellulose)
Further-modified anionic cellulose; salt- and temperature-resistant, excellent water solubility. For oil & gas drilling fluids (shale inhibition & fluid loss).
